3.2 Dialup - How do I disable Call-Waiting
Windows 95/98 (support for this operating system has expired)
- My Computer;
- Dialup Networking folder;
- Double click the icon for your Simply Bits connection;
- Dialup Properties;
- Enable the option labeled To Disable Call Waiting Dial;
- On the same line delete any numbers in the box and add in
"*70" and a comma;
- Click OK
Windows ME (support for this operating system has expired)
- Start, Settings, Dialup Networking;
- Double click the icon for your Simply Bits connection;
- Dialup Properties;
- Enable the option labeled To Disable call waiting dial;
- On the same line delete any numbers in the box and enter "*70 and a comma;
- Click OK
Windows 2000 (support for this operating system has expired)
- Start, Settings, Network and Dialup Connections;
- Double click the icon for your Simply Bits connection;
- Clcik on the Properties button;
- Clcik on the Rules button;
- Select My Location and then click edit;
- Enable the option labeled To disable call waiting dial;
- On the same line delete any numbers in the box and enter "*70" and a comma;
- Click OK.
Windows XP
- Start, Settings, Network Connections;
- Double click the icon for your Simply Bits connection;
- Click on the Properties button;
- Enable the option labeled Use Dialing Rules, if there is not one there already;
- Click on the Dialing Rules button;
- Select My Location and then click the Edit button;
- Enable the option labeled To disable call waiting dial;
- On the same line delete any numbers in the box and enter "*70" and a comma;
- Click OK.
Apple Macintosh OS
- Open the Apple menu and select Control Panels;
- Select Remote Access;
- Type in "*70" before the phone number.
