3.2 Dialup - How do I disable Call-Waiting


Windows 95/98 (support for this operating system has expired)
  1. My Computer;
  2. Dialup Networking folder;
  3. Double click the icon for your Simply Bits connection;
  4. Dialup Properties;
  5. Enable the option labeled To Disable Call Waiting Dial;
  6. On the same line delete any numbers in the box and add in "*70" and a comma;
  7. Click OK
Windows ME (support for this operating system has expired)
  1. Start, Settings, Dialup Networking;
  2. Double click the icon for your Simply Bits connection;
  3. Dialup Properties;
  4. Enable the option labeled To Disable call waiting dial;
  5. On the same line delete any numbers in the box and enter "*70 and a comma;
  6. Click OK
Windows 2000 (support for this operating system has expired)
  1. Start, Settings, Network and Dialup Connections;
  2. Double click the icon for your Simply Bits connection;
  3. Clcik on the Properties button;
  4. Clcik on the Rules button;
  5. Select My Location and then click edit;
  6. Enable the option labeled To disable call waiting dial;
  7. On the same line delete any numbers in the box and enter "*70" and a comma;
  8. Click OK.
Windows XP
  1. Start, Settings, Network Connections;
  2. Double click the icon for your Simply Bits connection;
  3. Click on the Properties button;
  4. Enable the option labeled Use Dialing Rules, if there is not one there already;
  5. Click on the Dialing Rules button;
  6. Select My Location and then click the Edit button;
  7. Enable the option labeled To disable call waiting dial;
  8. On the same line delete any numbers in the box and enter "*70" and a comma;
  9. Click OK.
Apple Macintosh OS
  1. Open the Apple menu and select Control Panels;
  2. Select Remote Access;
  3. Type in "*70" before the phone number.
